2017 Call for Projects for NGOS: Financing a gender equality program developed by the Virlanie Foundation [fr]
Within the framework of a call for projects organized by the Embassy of France to support the development of activities for the benefit of a marginalized sector, 10 French-Philippine NGOs submitted project proposals geared towards this year’s selected priority on the employability of the youth and/or gender equality.
The French Embassy thanks all the participants for their interest and congratulates all for their contributions to this call for projects. After a detailed evaluation of the different proposals of exceptional quality, the jury presided by the Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy is pleased to recognize the proposal presented by the Virlanie Foundation, which will benefit from financial assistance worth PHP 150,000 for the implementation of their project entitled “Initiative on Gender Equality Training” (i:GET).
This project, which will benefit children, young adults, and mothers, as well as the staff of the foundation, intends to promote equality and the empowerment of women and men through a series of trainings and workshops. These courses, simulation exercises, and group discussions aim to promote awareness in situations of gender inequality and to give participants the tools to react in incidents involving discrimination. These workshops likewise seek to allow girls and women to participate in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of awareness programs.
The project, the implementation of which will be monitored by the French Embassy, will run from March to October 2018.
