Call for projects for NGOs 2015
A jury chaired by the Ambassador of France to the Philippines gathered last November 10, 2015 for a call for projects opened to the network of French-Philippine NGOs and launched by the French Embassy. The group selected a proposal developed to benefit a community or a marginalized group on the theme on climate change and/or environmental preservation.
The jury has the pleasure to recognize the proposal presented by the ENFANCE Foundation, which will be given financial support to be given by the French Embassy worth P150,000.
The project of the ENFANCE Foundation, entitled "FBS (Family Budget and Savings) Life Project,” aims to raise awareness among the poorest communities of Baseco and Tondo in Manila on environmental preservation and climate change. The 390 beneficiaries of this project (including the youth and their families, particularly the mothers) reside in areas most vulnerable to flooding, typhoons and pollution.
This program seeks to develop two types of workshops:
1. Workshops on awareness (protection of mangroves, waste management...). The planting of mangroves will be organized.
2. Livelihood and social enterprises workshops will develop capable entrepreneurs to create an association, cooperative, or organization in the area of waste recycling (of bags and wallets through the weaving of organic fertilizers) and to promote them in the market. The aim is to transform this type of livelihood into a sustainable social enterprise for the benefit of the community, not only an individual.
The project will be implemented from January to December 2016 to be monitored by the Embassy of France. In return for the subsidy, Enfance is tasked to submit a final report of the project.
Congratulations to the ENFANCE Foundation!
