Filipino researchers participate in BIO-ICT regional program [fr]

7 students and researchers from various universities in the Philippines have been selected to participate in the BIO-ICT Asia 2016 scientific regional workshop held on May 30 & 31 at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.


On this occasion, more than 130 scientists and partners from France and the Asian region gathered to share research in the fields of health and well-being, biomass and renewable energy (BIO), and green smart cities and cyber security (ICT).

Mr. Arjan Paulo Salvanera from the University of Santo Tomas presented his research entitled "The impact of unified vehicular volume reduction program in reducing air pollution" in the session on green smart cities.

Participants to the workshop also appreciated the presentations of:

- Mr. Barradas (International Rice Research Institute): "Rice Knowledge Bank: Creating Green Cities through Access to Research-based Information on Rice Production"

- Ms. Rowely C. Parico (University of the Philipppines Los Baños): "KAP Analysis of Rice Farmers on Rice Doctors as a decision Tool in Pests and Diseases Management"

- Mr. Jose Hermis P. Patricio (Central Mindanao University): "Non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions from field burning of major crop biomass residues in Mindanao, Philippines"

- Ms. Mary Krystine Peña Olido (Dasmariñas National High School): "Social Networking Behavior, Sleep Quality, School Burnout Level, and Well-Being of Students in Dasmariñas National High School"

- Mr. Raymund N. Fantonalgo (Ateneo de Manila University): "Pharmacological Activities of Crude Methanolic Extract of Nitzschia paleacea Grunow"

- Ms. Jean Meir P. Jardaleza (Ateneo de Manila University): "Organotin Concentrations of Selected Macrobenthic Organisms in Manila Bay"
