Francophonie Night (March 20, 2019) [fr]
On March 20, the International day of the Francophonie, a large dinner buffet was held at the Alliance Française de Manille to honour the various cuisines of member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie. The night also included a concert of French songs performed by Filipino musicians Kate Torralba, Nyko Maca and Radha.
Filipinos and francophones came together that night to revel in the coq au vin, goulash, Belgian frites, couscous, hummus, cheese, and other treats offered by our Francophonie member states before dancing to the rhythm of Stromae’s "Papaoutai" and other French songs performed by renowned singers Kate Torralba, Nyko Maca, and Radha.
The winners of the "Les Marmites Francophones" cooking competition organized earlier this month by the AFM for its students were also awarded their prizes.
For making this exceptional musical and culinary evening a success, the AFM thanks the embassies of Belgium, France, Hungary, Morocco, Qatar, and Switzerland, the Honorary Consuls of Lebanon and Monaco in the Philippines, as well as its sponsors Don Papa, Mercedes Benz, Aficionado, L’Épicerie Gourmadne, Conrad Hotels, Sofitel Luxury Hotels and Le Bistro d’Agathe.
