French-Philippine NGO Network: Call for proposals 2021 [fr]
Since 2007, the Embassy of France to the Philippines has been launching an annual call for project proposals for the benefit of disadvantaged communities.
Several associations have already benefited from this call for projects. Among them are two NGOs awarded in 2020: Children of Asia for its project entitled DICE against Covid-19 which benefited the children of the Ermita slum in Cebu City, and Médecins du Monde for its project aimed at creating a shared vegetable garden among the residents of Barangay 775 in Manila City.
These two NGOs thus join the list of associations that have been awarded and financially supported by the French Embassy in the Philippines since the creation of the call for projects, namely Alouette in 2007, TNK in 2008, Les Augustins de l’Assomption in 2009, Fondation Enfance in 2010, Caméléon in 2011, Passerelles Numériques in 2012, Water & Life in 2013, Solidarités International 2014, the Fondation Enfance in 2015, Enfants du Mekong in 2016, Fondation Virlanie in 2017, Entrepreneurs du Monde (1st laureate) and Water & Life (2nd laureate) in 2018, Anak-Tnk Foundation (1st laureate) and Phil’Rouge (2nd laureate) in 2019.
The call for proposals 2021 is open from September 6 to October 29, 2021 to the associations of the Franco-Philippine NGO network. Considering that the COVID-19 health crisis has severely affected schools and universities which have remained closed to face-to-face learning for over a year, it is important for the project or activity proposals to address the issue of training or education of the most vulnerable populations in the time of the pandemic. Proposals should benefit a disadvantaged community or social group and are not limited to a particular theme: projects can be related to health, the environment, social issues or others.
Two NGOs will be awarded this year. Following the evaluation of these projects, the first awardee will receive a total financial grant worth PHP 300 000 from the Embassy of France to the Philippines, while the second awardee will receive a total financial grant worth PHP 100 000.
