A jury chaired by the Ambassador of France to the Philippines gathered last November 9, 2016 for the tenth call for proposals opened to the network of French-Philippine NGOs and launched by the French Embassy. The group selected a proposal developed to benefit a community or a marginalized group on the following theme: the youth.
After having examined the 22 proposals submitted this year, the jury had the pleasure to recognize the proposal presented by the NGO Enfants du Mékong (EDM), which has been given financial support worth PHP 196,000.
The project of EDM, entitled "Launching of one training center to the professional life in Butuan, Mindanao”, aims to open professional training center in the city of Butuan which will be able to accommodate 77 students, aged 16 to 24. The center will include a computer room and will finance trainings in the center but also outside such as visit of companies, job forums, and leadership seminar.
The project will be implemented during the school year 2016-2017 and will be monitored by the Embassy of France. In return for the subsidy, Enfants du Mékong is tasked to submit a final report of the project.
The Embassy would like to thank all participants for their interest in this year’s call for proposals and congratulates them for their submissions.
Congratulations to Enfants du Mékong!
