"Paris qui dort" at the 9th International Silent Film Festival in Manila [fr]
The Embassy of France participates in the 9th edition of the International Silent Film Festival in Manila which will take place from August 27 to 30, 2015 at the Shang Cineplex, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City.
The French comedy "Paris qui dort" (1923) directed by Rene Clair will be screened on August 30, 3:00pm to be accompanied by the music of the Ian Lofamia Blues Band.
- "Paris qui dort" (1923, René Clair). A mad scientist immobilizes Paris using a mysterious ray. Paris is immobilized; Paris is asleep - except for the passengers of a plane, their pilot, and the caretaker of the Eiffel Tower, who leave to regain the capital.
Free entrance, limited seats on a first come, first served basis.
The International Silent Film Festival in Manila is organized by the Goethe Institut, Instituto Cervantes, the Japan Foundation Manila, the Philippine-Italian Association, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the Embassies of Austria, France, Thailand and the United States.
