PhilFrance Scholarships for AY 2018-19

The Embassy of France in the Philippines is pleased to offer the following scholarship programs for the academic year 2018-2019.

PhilFrance Scholarships

The application session for the September 2018 intake is now open. These scholarships are directed to Filipino students and professionals wishing to come to France to pursue Master’s or Doctoral programs in all fields of study. The PhilFrance Scholarships are awarded to highly-qualified candidates who have demonstrated strong academic and leadership qualities in their scholarly and professional activities.

The scholarship benefits include a partial tuition subsidy, a monthly allowance, and a health care package for the expected length of their academic programs.

Eligibility criteria:

- A Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines at the time of application
- Graduates or graduating students of a Philippine higher education institution

  • For applicants to Master’s degree programs: final-year students or graduates of a Bachelor-level degree
  • For applicants to PhD programs: final-year students or graduates of a Master-level degree

CHED-PhilFrance Scholarships

The Commission on Higher Education and the French Embassy provide financial support to faculty and staff of CHED-recognized institutions who wish to pursue Master’s or Doctorate programs in all disciplines at French higher education institutions.

The benefits for selected candidates cover round-trip travel expenses, a monthly allowance, waived registration fees for state-regulated programs at public institutions, and a health care package.

Eligibility criteria:

- Employed by a CHED-recognized Philippine institution of higher learning
- A Filipino citizen
- Not more than 42 years old for applicants to Master’s degree programs and not more than 40 years old for applicants to Doctoral degree programs by the time you begin your degree
- At the minimum, a Bachelor’s degree holder (for applicants to Master’s degree programs) or a Master’s degree holder (for applicants to Doctoral degree programs)
- Possesses a strong academic record
- Demonstrates knowledge or expertise that would prepare them adequately for successful study and research in a specific graduate program
- In good health and of good moral character
- Have no pending criminal charges, and must not have been convicted for violation of any Philippine law
- Fulfill all the Terms and Conditions of the grant, including a return service obligation

Applications are assessed as they are received. Each candidate will be notified, regardless of the outcome of their application.

Master’s and Doctoral programs at Sciences Po are eligible for the CHED-PhilFrance Scholarships

Through a specific agreement signed between CHED and Sciences Po, a world-renowned French institution in the social sciences, full tuition fees for Sciences Po’s graduate programs will be financed as well, on top of the all the other benefits offered by the CHED-PhilFrance Scholarships.

Interested candidates must apply separately and simultaneously to Sciences Po and to the CHED-PhilFrance Scholarships.
