On January 4, 2017, French Ambassador Thierry Mathou and Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Patricia Licuanan signed the CHED-PhilFrance Scholarship agreement, which grants full scholarships to a minimum of 10 faculty and non-teaching staff from Philippine higher education institutions to pursue their Master’s or Doctorate degree in France. The French Embassy takes great pride in its close cooperation with the Philippine government and looks forward to working even more closely together on issues relevant to the Philippines, such as education, scientific research, public governance and tourism.

The French higher education system stands as one of the most highly respected in the world and continually produces world leaders and scientific breakthroughs. Over 1,000 Master’s degrees and a large majority of doctoral schools, in every discipline, cater to English-speaking students. In 2016, France welcomed 300,000 international students, while international students comprise over 40% of enrollees in doctoral programs in France. With over 250 doctoral schools, interested Filipino applicants can find the perfect program for them here.
