The Pala’wan: A Long Standing Humanity [fr]
Last February 23, the French Embassy inaugurated the event "The Pala’wan: A Long Standing Humanity" at the Alliance Française de Manille in the presence of Yves Zoberman, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, and Patrick Deyvant, Director of the Alliance Française, together with their event partners Jewelmer, Save Palawan Seas Foundation, and a number of guests.
Several events took place on the occasion of this event: the screening of films by director Pierre Boccanfuso, which focus on the people of Pala’wan, the opening of the art exhibit of Anna Fer, and the presentation of traditional Pala’wan objects by Norli Colili of the Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP) and co-founder of the Tinkep project.
On February 24, a series of conferences on the subject of prehistory and anthropology of the Pala’wan and their traditions was organized at the Museum of the History of Ideas at the University of the Philippines-Manila. Speakers such as Dr. Eusebio Dizon, Victor Paz, Hermine Xhauflair and Nicole Revel led the discussions.
