“Tour de France” by Rachid Djaïdani opens the 22nd Cine Europa in the Philippines [fr]
France is honored to open the 22nd edition of Cine Europa in the Philippines with the film “Tour de France,” directed by Rachid Djaïdani and starring Gérard Depardieu and Sadek, on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Greenbelt 3 cinemas in Makati City.
This film, which was screened at the Directors’ Fortnight of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, tells the story of an unlikely friendship formed between a promising young rapper and a mason nearing his retirement.
“Tour de France” will have a second screening on Monday, September 23, 2019.
Organized by the Delegation of the European Union in the Philippines with the embassies and cultural institutions of its member-states and of Norway, Cine Europa offers a selection of 13 films that the values, diversity, and history of Europe.
Cine Europa takes place from September 20 to 24, 2019 at the Greenbelt 3 cinemas in Makati City. Free admission!
After Manila, the festival will make a tour of the Philippines by organizing screenings in Cebu, Iloilo, Bohol, Naga, Palawan, and Leyte.
