H.E. Marie FONTANEL, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Philippines and Non-Resident Ambassador-Designate to Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands [fr]

Mrs. Marie Fontanel has been designated Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of the Philippines. She has also been designated as Non-resident Ambassador to Palau, the Federal States of Micronesia and the Marshall Island.

She arrived in Manila on the 10th of August 2023.

Former student of the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA), with a Master’s degree in Public Law (Panthéon-Assas) and a Master’s degree in International and European Law (University of Utrecht), Mrs. Fontanel served as Inspector General of Social Affairs.

A former adviser to French President Mr Emmanuel Macron on solidarity, health and gender equality (2017-2020), she then served as Ambassador, Permanent Representative of France to the Council of Europe from 2020 to 2023 in Strasbourg.
