Subsidiaries of French firm Bouygues Construction, one of the worldwide leaders in renewable energy, handed over Southeast Asia’s largest solar farm to Helios Solar Energy Corporation during an inauguration ceremony in Cadiz, Negros Occidental last March 3, 2016.
This solar farm is expected to produce a total output of 132 MWc and provide almost half of the energy needs of the province of Negros Occidental through the 425,000 solar panels installed across 170 hectares of land. Bouygues Construction will also be responsible for operating and maintaining the plant for a period of four years, with approximately sixty local employees working on site.
Present during the inauguration were French Ambassador Thierry Mathou, Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon, Cadiz Mayor Patrick Escalante, Helios Solar Energy Corporation Chairman Gregorio Araneta, and Bouygues-VSL owner Philippe Gauthier.
