Visit of the Chief of Staff of the French Navy to the Philippines (April 24, 2024) [fr]

Admiral Nicolas Vaujour, Chief of Staff of the French Navy (Marine Nationale), visited Manila to meet with Philippine defense officials.

During his official visit to the Philippines, Admiral Vaujour held exchanges with Department of National Defense Senior Undersecretary Irineo Espino, Armed Forces of the Philippines general Inspector LTGEN Steve Crespillo, Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., and Philippine Coast Guard Deputy Commander/administration CG Vice Admiral Victor Dela Vega. The meetings allowed to nourish the defence relation between France and the Philippines at the highest level and to deepen strategic and operational intimacy, consistently with the letter of intent signed by Minister Lecornu and Secretary Teodoro last December.

The visit of Admiral Vaujour comes as France actively participates for the first time in the Balikatan 2024 exercise. Floréal-class frigate Vendémiaire of the French Navy participates in the naval part the exercice, together with the Navies and Coast Guards of the Philippines and the United States in the surrounding waters of Palawan Island.
